Guardamar del Sequra (or Guardamar) is a municipality in the province of Alicante, community of Valenica, Spain. It has a population of just over 15,000 people and is located at the mouth of the river Segura, just 30 minutes by car from Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC).

To the north of are the towns of San Fulgencio / La Marina and Santa Pola. To the south of Guardamar is the town of Torrevieja and the “hamlet” of the Orihuela-Costa.

Guardamar del Segura enjoys more than 12 kilometres of natural coastline, with sand dune beaches backed by pine trees. This beautiful natural scene makes the town so appealing to locals and tourists. The town also has the Reina Sofia and Alfonso XIII parks which are both ideal for a leisurely stroll, cycling, or simply enjoying nature and taking in some of the local wildlife.

In addition, the town has a large marina where visitors can enjoy and participate in almost any water sport such as sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, underwater diving, canoeing, and jet skiing. Furthermore, the Marina de las Dunas, at the mouth of the river, has moorings for 498 boats.
