JOHN Gosden trained Enable, 6-5 favourite, and Aidan O’Brien trained Magical, priced at 9-2, are set to go head to head in Saturday’s Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park.
The 10-furlong Group One race has been the target for dual Arc de Triomphe heroine Enable – in the wake of missing the Royal Ascot meeting in June.
Enable, set for a tilt at a third win in the Arc de Triomphe, will be ridden by Royal Ascot top jockey, Italian ace Frankie Dettori.
Magical, who finished second behind Enable in the 2018 Breeders Cup, has clocked up three wins this season – and ran second behind Crystal Ocean in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Ballydoyle maestro O’Brien has a hand he could deal – in running Magical, Magic Wand, Flag Of Honour, Hunting Horn and Circus Maximus – in a bid to thwart Enable’s attempt in winning the Coral-Eclipse.
