San Javier, 16 October 2025 — HELP Murcia Mar Menor is pleased to announce a generous donation of €3,000 to Hogar El Buen Samaritano, a vital organisation supporting vulnerable families and individuals in the Murcia region. The donation was presented by representatives of HELP Murcia Mar Menor to Josué Sánchez and his son from Hogar El Buen Samaritano during a meeting held at HELP’s Outlet in San Javier.
Josué Sánchez expressed heartfelt gratitude, explaining that the funds will make a meaningful difference to many families and children in need. “This donation will help us provide fresh food every week, including chicken and vegetables, which are essential for children’s development and wellbeing,” he said.
Hogar El Buen Samaritano offers essential humanitarian assistance through two main programmes:
1. Provision Home
- Weekly food distribution to more than 600 individuals throughout the year.
- Support for approximately 250 families, including around 250 children under 16.
- Distribution of fresh food such as fruit, vegetables, eggs, and meat, as well as packaged and frozen goods.
- Hygiene and cleaning products, along with baby essentials such as milk formula, baby food, and nappies.
2. Social and Employment Integration
- Guidance and support in job seeking.
- Workshops to build skills and promote healthy lifestyle habits to enhance employability.
- Assistance in preparing CVs and accessing job opportunities and training courses.
- Individual follow-up plans to support long-term integration.
HELP Murcia Mar Menor, a registered charity established in 2002, continues to support local causes across the region. Originally founded to provide mobility assistance, the charity now offers over 80 pieces of equipment on loan, from walking sticks to mobility scooters. Equipment is available from the main office in San Javier, open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 to 12:30.
To further its charitable work, HELP opened a retail Outlet in 2015 offering clothing, household items, and furniture. Located in San Javier, the Outlet operates Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30. The charity is entirely volunteer-run and funded through donations and proceeds from social events and retail sales.
