Rayito Salinero Beach Handball Club continues to make its mark among Spain’s elite beach handball teams. This past weekend, the senior men’s team earned national runner-up honors at the prestigious Arena 1000 Masters tournament held in La Manga del Mar Menor, featuring the top eight teams in the country. The final match, broadcast live on Teledeporte, brought national visibility to the Torrevieja-based club.
The men’s team showed strong progression throughout the competition, gradually tightening their defense and maintaining a steady offensive rhythm that helped them top their group in the initial stage. In the quarterfinals, they overcame the always-tough BMP Lleons de Gandía, and then delivered a mature, team-driven performance in the semifinals against Sanse to secure their spot in the final. There, they faced BMP Sevilla and, despite a hard-fought match, finished with a well-deserved silver medal.
Meanwhile, the senior women’s team—coming off a second-place finish at the Arena 1000 in Vilanova—fell short of another final appearance. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Alcalá, who went on to win the tournament.
