In a decisive move to enhance its tourism sector, Mojácar has officially launched the Mojácar Hotel Association, a new organization aimed at promoting a sustainable, high-quality tourism model that meets the challenges of a rapidly evolving travel industry.

Backed by the Mojácar Council, the association represents a unified effort by local hoteliers to modernize and strengthen the municipality’s hospitality offering, aligning with ongoing public and private investments designed to expand and upgrade the area’s tourism infrastructure.

“This is great news for Mojácar,” said Mayor Francisco García. “Our tourism development strategy relies on unity, planning, and shared commitment. This association is a clear sign of that spirit. The Council fully supports this initiative, as we believe that the collaboration between local government and private enterprise is key to building a robust, sustainable destination capable of meeting 21st-century expectations.”

Alberto Simone Chiusano will lead the association as president, with Michela Felici serving as secretary. Their mission is focused on:

  • Promoting sustainable and competitive tourism,
  • Enhancing Mojácar’s visibility on national and international markets,
  • Driving innovation and modernization in hotel management, and
  • Supporting the professional development of hospitality workers through training and technological adaptation.

The initiative comes at a critical time for Mojácar, which is undergoing significant transformation. New projects and investments are set to improve tourist capacity and diversify the local offer, strengthening Mojácar’s position as a key player in Almería’s tourism landscape.

Tourism Councillor María Gracia Alarcón emphasized the strategic timing: “Mojácar is evolving, and this association is exactly what we need right now. Being a quality destination means working together. The Council’s Tourism Department will be deeply involved, offering full support to initiatives that drive smart, sustainable growth.”

Beyond improving internal hotel operations, the Mojácar Hotel Association will also contribute to the broader economic and social development of the municipality. It will spearhead promotional campaigns, represent Mojácar at tourism fairs, develop training programs, and build collaborative ties with related sectors including retail, gastronomy, and active tourism.

This coordinated effort between local business leaders and municipal institutions is part of a broader vision: to position Mojácar as a modern, sustainable, and competitive destination — a benchmark for excellence along the Andalusian coast and throughout the province of Almería.
