A 36-year-old Irishman has been arrested in Rojales after he was found to be the driver of a vehicle that moved drugs around the area, on behalf of an International Drugs Organisation. He is accused of being the driver of a ‘shuttle vehicle’ that supported an organization that was dismantled in the so-called ‘Topila’ operation in mid-2023.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 3 of Torrevieja, which ordered his release on bail.

The investigations were carried out by the Judicial Police from the Pilar de la Horadada Civil Guard. They began in June 2023, during which the agents found evidence of the existence of a vehicle used to provide security for the transportation of drugs, commonly known as a ‘shuttle’.

The agents were able to identify the car and the person who was driving by images taken from roadside security cameras. After confirming where he lived, he was arrested in an establishment in Rojales, from where he was moved to the Pilar de la Horadada Civil Guard, station.

After being arrested, the agents discovered that the detainee had a judicial charge for falsifying documents, so he was once again placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 2 of Torrevieja.
