Despite the fact that the coronavirus infection curve continues to decline in the Community, the death toll has risen for the third consecutive day.

On Wednesday, February 2, the Ministry of Health has reported a total of 17,677 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR or through antigen tests. There have also been 51 coronavirus deaths reported since the last update, all of which are people who have died in the last seven days. They are 20 women between 51 and 95 years of age; and 31 men, between 54 and 104 years of age. Valencian hospitals have 1,756 people admitted with the virus, 174 of them in the ICU.

Of the total number of deaths, 985 are in the province of Castellón, 3,306 in Alicante and 4,324 in Valencia.

The number of new cases by province are 1,873 in Castellón (142,972 in total), 5,582 in Alicante (408,919), 10,221 in Valencia (598,842).

Hospitals currently have 1,756 people admitted with the virus, 174 of them in the ICU: 256 in the province of Castellón, 16 in the ICU; 575 in the province of Alicante, 60 of them in the ICU; and 925 in the province of Valencia, 98 in the ICU.

The number of discharges exceeds the number of new cases for the third consecutive day. There have been 22,076 discharges, 4,399 more than new cases.

According to the registered data, there are currently 188,544 active cases, which represents 16.22% of the total positives.
