Sueña Torrevieja believes the club’s success must now be matched by a clear municipal commitment to improve sports infrastructure, particularly through the complete redevelopment of the Vicente García Stadium.

Sueña Torrevieja has congratulated SC Torrevieja CF on its historic promotion to the Tercera RFEF, describing the achievement as a proud moment for the whole city and a turning point for local football.

Party spokesperson Pablo Samper praised the players, coaching staff, board, sponsors and supporters for a season of hard work and commitment, saying the promotion “belongs to all of Torrevieja” and to everyone who has helped restore the club’s sporting prominence.

“This promotion is a collective joy for Torrevieja and should provide the final push to give the city football facilities worthy of its fans, its clubs and its future,” Samper said.

Sueña Torrevieja believes the club’s success must now be matched by a clear municipal commitment to improve sports infrastructure, particularly through the complete redevelopment of the Vicente García Stadium.

The group has reminded the City Council that the renovation of the stadium was included among the agreements linked to the 2026 municipal budget. It is now calling for a firm timetable, defined phases, administrative deadlines and sufficient funding to ensure the project becomes a reality.

“The Nelson Mandela stadium has been an important facility and has seen major improvements in recent years, but Torrevieja cannot continue relying on partial solutions,” Samper said. “The growth of grassroots football, the promotion of SC Torrevieja CF and the demands of higher-level competition make it essential to accelerate the planning, tendering and execution of the full redevelopment of Vicente García.”

Sueña Torrevieja argues that the stadium should once again become the city’s main football venue, with modern, accessible and functional facilities capable of serving the first team, youth academy and other local clubs throughout the year.

“Football in Torrevieja is growing, the supporters are responding, and the city has a magnificent opportunity to look ahead with ambition,” Samper added. “Now the City Council must rise to the occasion, honour what was agreed and turn this promotion into a catalyst for improvement across Torrevieja.”

The party said SC Torrevieja CF’s promotion should mark the start of a new era for the sport in the city.

“Torrevieja has a team, fans, a youth academy and a future,” Samper concluded. “What it now needs is a stadium that matches that ambition.”

Sueña Torrevieja reiterated its congratulations to the club, its sponsors and the entire blue-and-white family, while reaffirming its commitment to improving local sports facilities.
