Carp-R-Us fished round 6 of their Autumn Series on the Eden stretch of the Rio Segura near Guardamar. This stretch needs a lot of work during the year, so a big thank you to Ann, Jackie, Steve C, Roy D, Tom and Steve F for turning out the previous Monday to cut back the reeds and generally improve the pegs for today.
The expected rain fortunately didn’t arrive, so the match was fished in excellent conditions. First from peg 10 was Tom Marshall with 7.25 kg caught using feeder and corn and second was Steve Collins (peg 12) with 6.00 kg on pole and maggot.
These two were well clear of Terry Screen (peg 8), 3.15 kg on pole and bread and Roy Dainty and Steve Fell with 0.70 kg from pegs 7 and 8. All the anglers were troubled by blue crabs and if you fish this stretch and catch one be careful, the can give a nasty nip.
