Applications may be submitted online until 21 June for courses in dance, painting, theatre, tai chi, oriental dance, photography and traditional salt crafts.

TORREVIEJA, 2 June 2026.
Torrevieja City Council, through the Joaquín Chapaprieta Municipal Institute of Culture, will open registration on Monday, 8 June, for the Municipal Culture Schools for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The programme offers residents the opportunity to develop artistic, creative and cultural skills through a wide range of courses, including dance, painting, theatre, tai chi, oriental dance, photography and traditional salt crafts.

Councillor Antonio Quesada said the municipal schools are a key part of the city’s cultural life, providing quality training and making artistic disciplines accessible to people of all ages.

Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the electronic office of the Joaquín Chapaprieta Municipal Institute of Culture. The registration period will run from 8 to 21 June, followed by an appeals period from 22 to 26 June.

The final list of admitted students will be published on 28 June on the noticeboard of the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre and on the Institute’s electronic office.

From the week of 2 July, successful applicants will be contacted to receive payment letters. They will then have one month to complete enrolment by paying the relevant fee online or through collaborating banks.

Annual enrolment will cost €50 for most municipal culture schools. Fees for the Municipal Dance School will vary depending on the course.

Should places remain available after the first registration period, an extraordinary enrolment process will open in September.

Quesada highlighted that the Municipal Culture Schools are not only an educational resource, but also spaces for meeting, creativity, personal development and community participation across all age groups.
