Firefighters from Orihuela, Almoradí, Torrevieja, Elche and Crevillente fire stations responded to a fire in Redován on Sunday night on a poultry farm that was breeding over 20,000 chickens.
As the fire quickly spread the building and 800 mtrs of the surrounding area was completely devastated along with all of the 20,000 chickens. A total of 4 fire tenders were used at the scene with the firemen needing about 3 hours to completely douse the flames.
Unfortunately, being a Sunday evening there was no-one on hand to release the birds as a result of which they were all destroyed.
