ARONIMINK GOLF CLUB will host the 2026 PGA Championship 250 years after the founding of America in 1776, and 100 years after the opening of the club in 1926. Aronimink was the chief of the Lenape indians who first lived here.
The Donald Ross-designed course is close to the site of Brandywine battle, which the Americans lost trying to protect the then capital, Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love may feel more friendly towards their British visitors this time around, unless one of them beats Scottie Scheffler to the Wanamaker trophy.

The Byron Nelson Classic takes place May 21-24th at the TPC Craig Ranch course, Texas. In 2014 Scottie Scheffler, aged 17, tied for 22nd place in his first PGA Tour competition with his sister caddying and his girlfriend (now his wife) shouting encouragement. “I grew up here watching my idols for hours on the driving range,” Scheffler said.
Last year after five hours of strolling round the course to adoring cheers the world’s No.1 golfer took the title with 8 under. The Texas course underwent a major makeover after that to “sharpen the experience,” so Scheffler and his fellow pros who have grown used to torching the place may be in for a shock this time.
THE 2026 GREAT GOLF SHOW SOUTH takes place at Wycombe Air park near Marlow 15/16th May. Enthusiasts can take part in NTP and Long Putt challenges, golf darts and the Rory McIlroy Tumble Dryer chipping contest, the indoor simulator or indoor driving range. After a custom fitting they can treat themselves to a new set of clubs or book a golf holiday in Mauritius.
The Great Golf Show North takes place in June at Leeds East airport, so if they missed anything they still have a chance to bankrupt themselves.
MATT FITZPATRICK was the only amateur since Bobby Jones to hold the Low Amateur honours in the Open and US Open in 2013/2014.
This year the World No. 3 won the Valspar Championship in March, sinking a 14-foot birdie to claim an 11 -under victory, and the RBC Heritage.
Younger brother Alex overcame a 6-shot deficit with a blazing run of birdies to win the Hero Indian Open in March with a 3 under 69. Last month the Sheffield pair’s victory in the Zurich Classic included a 57 in the Saturday fourball, giving Alex a two year PGA Tour exemption and earning them $1,372,000 each, or quite a few chip butties.
Matt Fitzpatrick uses the Al -powered analytics platform Arccos. “The whole point of using data and analytics is to increase your probability of winning,” Fitzpatrick explained. “Arccos provides me with the perfect strategy so I know exactly what shot to hit in every situation.” Good for him. I’m afraid it would take more than data analytics to increase my probability of winning. I don’t trust this Al, for all we know it could be an Al-generated Matt on the course.
FUJIKURA’S VENTUS SHAFTS help elite players maintain control without sacrificing distance. Fujikura’s winning streak in 2025 began with the Masters. In McIlroy’s long game masterclass at Augusta he averaged 334 yds with a Fujikura Ventus Black 6-X shaft in his driver and Ventus shafts in his 3 and 5-wds.
J.J. Spaun won the US Open at Oakmont Country Club with a Ventus Black 6-X shaft in his driver and produced one of the shots of the year at the par-4 17th. Scottie Scheffler had Ventus shafts in his driver and woods to win both the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow and the Open at Royal Portrush.
McIIroy’s successful Masters defence now extends Fujikura’s dominance to five straight majors. Will Ventus magic wands make it six in a row at Aronimink? Until next time: Happy Golfing
