The IES Rafal will host the Provincial Final of the Tour de Mates on Wednesday, April 9, a prestigious mental maths competition for secondary school students that features participants from over 500 educational institutions nationwide.
As the host institution, IES Rafal will welcome students who have advanced through the preliminary rounds, including competitors from IES Mediterráneo in Torrevieja and IES Santa Pola in Santa Pola.
Councilor for Education, Gabriel Valero, expressed his pride in Rafal being selected as the venue for this competition, stating:
“Hosting this event is an honour for our town, but it is even more exciting to see three of our students rank among the top ten in the preliminary rounds, with one of them securing first place. We hope that, with the advantage of competing at home, our students will achieve another outstanding result on April 9.”
The provincial final will take place at 5:00 PM at IES Rafal. Mayor Manuel Pineda also highlighted the significance of Rafal serving as the event’s host, extending a warm welcome to the visiting students and teachers:
“We are delighted to host this competition and welcome all participants to experience the facilities of IES Rafal and our town.”
