“Fantasy Landscapes,” a musical composition by renowned composer Óscar Navarro, has been created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Montesinos Musical Group.
The Los Montesinos Town Council proudly announces the premiere of this unique piece, commissioned from Alicante-born composer Óscar Navarro, in honour of the band’s four decades of musical excellence. The much-anticipated event will take place on April 26, 2025, at the town’s auditorium.
“Fantasy Landscapes” is a tribute to Los Montesinos, structured into four sweeping movements that take listeners on an imaginative and emotional journey. The piece will be performed by the Montesinos Musical Group under the baton of Óscar Navarro himself, who has infused every note with his signature talent and creativity.
Navarro has collaborated with the group before, leading training sessions and seeing his works performed by the band in concerts and competitions.
Rosa Belén Morán, Councilor for Culture, expressed her excitement for this long-awaited project:
“We are incredibly proud to present a piece that not only celebrates music but also reflects our identity as a community. ‘Fantasy Landscapes’ is a gift to the people of Montesinos and a beautiful way to mark 40 years of our town’s musical heritage.”
Mayor José Manuel Butrón also highlighted the significance of the premiere:
“This event is a major milestone for Los Montesinos. Through this composition, we honour our rich musical tradition and the many individuals and families who have been part of the Montesinos Musical Group. I invite all residents and visitors to join us for this truly special occasion.”
