The Benejúzar Town Council has approved a series of measures aimed at reinforcing the municipal workforce and improving working conditions for its employees. Mayor Vicente Cases, who also oversees Citizen Security and Human Resources, said the initiative reflects the local government’s commitment to building a more efficient and modern administration that meets the needs of residents.
Among the key decisions is the creation of new positions in essential departments. The council has authorised a new Second Activity post within the Local Police and announced the recruitment of an additional police officer — bringing the total force to eleven. “Public safety is a top priority,” said Cases, “and these additions ensure greater coverage, especially at weekends, during events, and in high-demand periods.”
Two new positions will also be opened in the Public Works and Services Department, alongside a revision of the council’s staffing structure to better align with operational needs. Improvements include adjustments to pay grades, recognition of shift and availability factors, and aligning overtime rates with neighbouring municipalities.
“Investing in our municipal workers means investing in the quality of public services,” the mayor added, thanking union representatives for their collaboration and reaffirming the council’s goal of maintaining a modern, motivated, and stable workforce.
