Benejúzar, May 2026 — Benejúzar Council has awarded transport grants to 95 local students who are studying outside the municipality.

The Education Department has allocated €40,000 for the scheme, which is designed to help students with the cost of travelling to secondary, vocational and higher education centres.

For the first time, the grants have also been made available to students attending private education centres, as well as those studying at public institutions.

The aid is aimed at students under the age of 30 who are registered residents of Benejúzar and are enrolled in university degrees, official master’s programmes, intermediate or higher-level vocational training courses, or higher artistic education.

Mayor Vicente Cases said the grants are intended to ease part of the daily travel costs faced by students who must leave Benejúzar to continue their education.

He said the council wants to support young people during an important stage of their academic lives, particularly when continuing their studies places extra financial pressure on students and their families.

The council said the number of successful applicants shows the importance of the scheme for many young residents who need regular transport to access the courses and training they require.
