A 30-year-old man has been arrested by the Civil Guard on suspicion of drug trafficking after officers discovered 11 doses of cocaine hidden inside a modified vape device. The arrest took place during a routine security check in the La Granadina industrial park in the town of San Isidro.

The incident dates back to mid-March, when a patrol from the Dolores Main Post was conducting a preventive security operation in the area. Officers noticed a man leaving a betting shop without wearing a seatbelt and proceeded to stop him for identification.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the man displayed unusually nervous behaviour, prompting officers to carry out a personal and vehicle search. During the inspection, they found €579 in small-denomination bills and several mobile phones.

The suspect, visibly agitated, eventually handed over a vape device he had been concealing under his clothing. Upon closer examination, the device was found to be modified and contained 11 individually wrapped doses of cocaine, apparently ready for street-level distribution.

The man, who has a history of prior offenses, was taken into custody and charged with a public health offense related to drug trafficking. He was brought before the Court of Instruction No. 2 in Orihuela, which released him on precautionary measures while the investigation continues.
