Guided tours of the Museum of Natural History of Torrevieja ended last Sunday, tours that have been conducted for two months to celebrate the XVI Science Week organised by the Cultural Association Ars Creatio.
The Department of Culture is pleased with the success that always characterises these specialised guided tours, coordinated by the neuroscientist María Luisa Molina which she carried out along with the biologist Estefanía Alonso.
More than 2,000 people have visited the Museum during this period with guided tours on Wednesdays and Fridays for educational centres and on Sundays for families and the general public.
The guided tours have been made up of students from eight educational centres in Torrevieja, including schools, institutes and special education centres, as well as families from Torrevieja, nearby towns such as Orihuela, Rojales, Guardamar, Elche, Elda or Arenales del Sol, and further afield such as Getafe, Zaragoza, San Sebastian, and even France.
There have also been free visits on Sundays offered in collaboration with the tourist office, which have come from Torrevieja and cities in different areas of Spain, including Murcia, Madrid, Huesca, Zaragoza, and many foreign countries such as Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Colombia, Finland, Germany, Venezuela, Holland, Ireland, Romania and Argentina.
This activity has been sponsored by the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and the Vice-presidency and Department of Equality of the Generalitat Valenciana and carried out with the collaboration of the departments of Culture, Education and Tourism of the City Council of Torrevieja.
