The traditional lighting of the Christmas tree in the Plaza de la Constitución in Torrevieja will take place next Sunday, December 1, at 18:00 hours.
As has been customary since 2002, Erick Persson presents the city of Torrevieja with a tree, from Sweden, symbolizing the gratitude of the Nordic community to the Torrevieja people for the friendship, tolerance and warm welcome they have always shown.
The lighting ceremony will begin with a mass at 16:00 hours in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree at 18:00 hours
The ceremony will be attended by the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, the Councillor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, the Consul of Sweden in Torrevieja, Björn Sandström, and the priest of the Swedish Church, Hakon Toresson.
