A woman was badly injured on Saturday after a bed frame fell on her head as she was walking down Calle Jerónimo Santa Fe in Lorca. It was thrown from an upstairs balcony in an apartment block, bounced off a vehicle parked in the road and hit the woman in the face and head as she was walking near the José Ibáñez Martín Institute.
The incident occurred during the early evening requiring an ambulance to attend the scene to where the woman was treated by paramedics, before transferring her to the Rafael Méndez hospital.
Local Police patrols and the Councillor for Security, Juan Miguel Bayonas, also went to the area in an attempt locate the perpetrator of the attack.
Next to the bed base, which was left by a school fence, there was a pool of blood, while dozens of people who were walking along the street at that time said they were shocked by the unfortunate event.
