Hospital pressure continues to drop with 560 patients admitted to the wards, 15 fewer in 24 hours, and ICUs fall below 60 critical for the first time since the end of December
The province of Alicante has registered another 4,907 coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the lowest figure since January 18, according to the latest data provided by the Ministry of Health. It also continues to ease the pressure in hospitals, where there are 560 patients with covid-19, fifteen less than the 24 hours earlier, and 79 fewer patients than Monday.
The situation in the Intensive Care units also improves slightly, with 59 people, falling below the 60 barrier for the first time since December 28. However there have been a further ten deaths taking the total number in the Province to 3,316.
In the Valencian Community there have been a total of 15,620 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR or through antigen tests, taking the total number of positives to 1,166,358 people. The new cases by province are 1,599 in Castellón (144,571 in total), 4,907 in Alicante (413,826) , 9,114 in Valencia (607,956). The total number of unassigned cases remains at 5.
The number of discharges exceeds the number of new cases for the fourth day with 24,353 discharges of patients registered, 8,733 more than new cases. The number of people who have now overcome the disease since the pandemic began in the Valencian Community is 989,373 people.
By provinces, registrations are as follows: 119,452 in Castellón, 355,825 in Alicante and 514,036 in Valencia. Total unassigned discharges remain at 60.
The hospitals of the Community currently have 1,741 people admitted, 172 of them in the ICU: 259 in the province of Castellón, 19 in the ICU; 560 in the province of Alicante, 59 of them in the ICU ; and 922 in the province of Valencia, 94 in the ICU.
26 deaths from coronavirus have been reported since the last update in the three provinces. These are 10 women between 73 and 95 years old; and 16 men, between 60 and 94 years old. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic amounts to 8,641: 988 in the province of Castellón, 3,316 in Alicante and 4,337 in Valencia.
According to the registered data, there are currently 179,785 active cases, which represents 15.26% of the total positives.
