After the councillor of Beaches announced a few days ago that the beach at Cala de Ferrís will be among the options considered for the Torrevieja beach for dogs, the Platform Salvemos Lo Ferrís has appealed to the Ayuntamiento that the location be excluded from any decision.
At the recent monthly meeting of the group members agreed that the area continues to suffer from suffocating environmental and social pressures, so it needs time to help it recover. The cove is still considered to be very much at risk which the Platform is working to minimize.
The meeting also addressed steps its members can take to achieve further protection for the site. In addition to insisting that all permissions to build be annulled, and the so-called ‘wall of shame’ be demolished, it was announced that the group will also submit proposals to the Territorial Action Plan for increased protection of the Ferris Cove.
