Pilar de la Horadada has enhanced its video surveillance system with the addition of 23 new cameras, primarily at access points to the coastal area.
Councillor for Modernisation, Nieves Moreno, announced that the City Council’s project, which has a budget of 263,000 euros, increases the total number of cameras in the municipal area to 55. This expansion underlines the Council’s commitment to gradually improve the surveillance network.
The next phase will involve installing license plate detection equipment on public roads. Funded by the Plan to Promote Innovative Territories of the Regional Minister of Innovation, these projects aim to boost urban safety.
In 2022, the Council invested 170,000 euros to renovate and expand the system, installing 31 digital cameras, including license plate readers and 360-degree cameras with artificial vision technology capable of differentiating between vehicles and people.
