Torrevieja Tennis Club Juniors finished as runner-up in the Valencian community championship while the cadet team got to the final.
The junior team fell 4-3 in the very last set of doubles, against CT Valencia, in a final in which both teams of boys were evenly matched, with little to choose between the two squads of players.
Later in the day, the cadet team won the semi-final of their category, beating Tennis centre Valencia 5-0, thus qualifying for the final against CT Valencia, and for the Spanish championship in Tarrasa next summer.
These two junior finals, together with the men’s Infantile final that was held in January, have got junior tennis in Torrevieja off to an excellent start to the season with three out of three finals.
Finally, the Benjamin team could lost 3-2 to CT Elche in the last mixed doubles. Next week they will play the qualification for the quarter finals against CA Montemar.
Players involved in the finals were: Charo Esquiva, Juliana Giaccio, Fernando Martínez, Sergi López, Oscar Pantoja, Ángel Minguez, Mario Lozano, Pablo Álvarez, Sandro Tortosa, Tomking Deng, Joan Pérez, Anaelle Calderon and Katia Savicheva.
