Neighbourhood associations, festival committees and non-profit organisations will be able to apply for funding to stage local celebrations during 2026

Orihuela has approved a €368,600 grant programme to support traditional and popular festivals across the municipality and its surrounding districts during 2026.

The funding is available to legally registered, non-profit festival committees, neighbourhood associations and other eligible organisations responsible for staging local celebrations.

Grants will be awarded through a competitive application process.

Holy Week events and the Moors and Christians Reconquest festivities are excluded because they are covered by separate funding arrangements.

Eligible costs include musical performances, entertainment, cultural activities, fireworks, infrastructure hire, festival publications, insurance and technical reports required for events to take place.

Applications must be submitted electronically through Orihuela City Council’s online portal.

The application period will remain open for ten working days from the day after the official notice is published in the Alicante Provincial Gazette through Spain’s national grants database.

Successful applicants will receive 80% of the approved funding in advance. The remaining 20% will be paid after the organisation submits its expenditure records and they have been approved.
