Each year the best of the best gather at Torrevieja to do battle in what is arguably the most prestigious event in the Spanish bowling Calendar.
Club Champions from clubs North and South Costa Blanca region play a knockout tournament against each other in Singles, Mixed Pairs, Ladies & Gents Pairs, Triples and Rinks.
Javea Green were represented in all disciplines with Alan Phillips and Paul Brown winning through several rounds to get to the semi final where after a nail biting game they narrowly missed out in a finals placing by just one shot.
The Ladies pairs of Lynne Eldon and Chris Evans won each round convincingly to reach the final before losing to a home team.
The Mixed triples team of Jan & Alan Phillips and Velia Wood reached the finals and won to claim victory and lift the cup.
Alan commented “It was a gruelling week of intense bowling made more difficult by the daily 3 hour round trip to get to the bowling venue but it was all worth it to bring the Champion of Champion’s title back to Javea bowls Club.
