With a terrific score of 91 points (just 3 short of our all-time record), Reg Akehurst, Marleen Billen, Harry Howard and Friedel Knebel took 1st place in Monday’s 6x6x6. On the 7th hole, where it was the best two scores to count, they managed to get nine!
Wednesday’s Stableford was all a question of club selection as each player was only allowed 5 clubs and a putter. Given his equipment restriction Terry Cullen did very well to take the top slot with 38 points. Hot on his heels was Joyce McClusky with 37 and Andy McDonald managed third (on countback) with 36 points. Two ‘2’s today going to Dave Pulling and Andy McDonald.
Beating Joyce McClusky 6&5 it was Ellen Drakesmith who was crowned this year’s winner of our Singles Match play Knockout Competition (husband John took the title last year!)
In a ‘friendly’ Yellow Peril it was Reg Akehurst, Mike Mahony, Graham Murray and Andy McDonald who shared the spoils of victory. After deciphering their score card they had amassed an amazing 170 points (which was nearly 60 more than my team!) and came up just one point short of our all-time record. Also well worth a mention is Annemarie Weisheit. She managed to putt out on six holes all of which were over 25 foot!
