Quite a few beneficiaries celebrated 3 Kings along with volunteers with a party on Saturday 5th January at the Day Centre in La Siesta.
The merriment all began at 2pm when everyone had been seated and then were served an exceptionally fine buffet all prepared by Cakes n Bakes in Rioja, near Villamartin. The buffet fayre ranged from sandwiches, pork pie, sausage rolls, Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle cake, scones and jam, quiche, mince pies rounded off very nicely with a glass of cava.
Entertainment for the afternoon was provided by the choir Dawn Chorus, led by Dawn Ritch. They sang a selection of Christmas carols followed by a few songs by Abba, Karen Carpenter, Susan Maugham and more. This newly formed choir certainly knew how to get the audience participating and singing along and received grateful applause after finishing their performance with Feliz Navidad.
Naturally there was a raffle and a huge hamper of goodies, kindly donated by manager Wilma and volunteers of our Torrevieja shop, was won by Margaret Dumbleton from La Siesta.
As we go into 2019 and all that it may bring, all of us at Age Concern would like to wish everyone a Happy, Peaceful and Healthy New Year.
