In the run up to the celebration of the Nativity of the Lord at Christmas, Ss Peter and Paul, Torrevieja is having two special services at Lago Jardín Church and La Siesta Church.
Father Richard A. Seabrook SSC, the English Priest in Torrevieja, said: Every year we look forward to celebrate the Nativity of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with our special Masses at our churches but we also prepare with special events which many people enjoy.
On Friday 13th December between 1800 and 1900 at Lago Jardín Church, Urb Lago Jardín, Torrevieja there will be an hour of carol singing and readings outside the church. People love traditional carol singing and so it´s great to sing our carols and hear the Christmas story in an informal manner. Wrap up warmly, said Father Seabrook.
On Thursday 19th December at 1800 at La Siesta Church, Calle Granados, Urb La Siesta in Torrevieja there will be a more formal Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. This is the same worldwide famous Nine Lessons and Carols Service that comes from King´s College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve and I´m sure here in Torrevieja we can match the quality if the singing, commented Father Seabrook. We hear in Sacred Scripture the nine lessons which culminate in the Nativity story and sing glorious carols celebrating Christ´s birth. All are welcome!
The Masses for Christmas will be at 1700 on December 24th at Lago Jardín; 2330 on December 24th at La Siesta; and 1030 on December 25th at La Siesta.
