A cunning thief who used multiple false identities to evade capture has been apprehended by the Civil Guard in Torrevieja.

The 43-year-old Albanian national is accused of a string of violent robberies and document forgery in Orihuela Costa

The investigation began on September 21st when burglars struck a home in Orihuela Costa, making off with €87,500 in cash and valuables. The Civil Guard’s Judicial Police Team in Pilar de la Horadada, aided by colleagues in Guardamar de Segura and traffic analysts, meticulously pieced together the evidence.

A crucial breakthrough came when authorities linked the suspect to a prior arrest for using a forged document. Fingerprint analysis confirmed his true identity. Further investigation tied him to additional robberies in the area.

On November 1st, a patrol in Torrevieja arrested the suspect for attempted robbery. A subsequent search of his home yielded a trove of stolen goods, counterfeit documents, foreign license plates, luxury items, and a substantial amount of cash.

The Orihuela Court has ordered the suspect’s pre-trial detention without bail.
