Once again this week the National Police too to their social media platforms to warn of the dangers of swimming pools for minors, but on Wednesday a 5-year-old girl suffered a cardiac arrest after accidentally falling into a swimming pool in Orihuela.
Having attended the scene, the medics found the girl unconscious, with members of the public performing CPR, before they took over and continued to treat her in situ before requesting an escort from the Guardia Civil so as to ensure a smooth transfer to the hospital.
The girl was transferred to the Doctor Balmis General Hospital in Alicante due to symptoms of drowning and recovered cardiac arrest, where she has been admitted with a reserved prognosis, according to sources from the emergency control centre.
