Racing at Chelmsford on Saturday has been abandoned in the aftermath of Storms Eunice and Franklin hit the UK this week.
“After further inspection of facilities following Storms Eunice and Franklin, Chelmsford City Racecourse has taken the decision to abandon racing on Saturday 26 February,” said Neil Graham Chelmsford City racecourse spokesman.
“Significant damage has been caused and the racecourse is currently awaiting inspection results from engineers to ensure all heath and safety concerns are dealt with,” he said.
“Please continue to look at our latest news and social media channels, should any other future fixtures be affected,” said Graham.
