Talks between the government and the main unions representing airport employees, CC.OO., UGT, and USO, continued today as the parties tried to avoid a series of airport strike action which may begin at the end of September is an agreement is not reached.
The unions representing airport workers have aid that strikes will only be cancelled if all of their demands concerning working and pay conditions are met. The unions have planned to strike for 25 days between September and December as reported by The Leader earlier this month (Spanish airport unions announce 25 days of strike action).
The unions are insisting upon better working conditions, including an additional 700+ new workers, and an increase of more than 1% to their salaries.
