Charities play an important role in giving back to modern society, particularly here in Spain where they provide services and activities for those who are most vulnerable, and who, for a variety of reasons, have been unable to call on their local social services to deliver. This has never been more prevalent than during recent months, following the devastating impact of the pandemic and last October’s DANA.
As such, it has never been more important for charities to consider collaborating with others to achieve their mission, and multiply the impact they have across the sector. By working with other charities, they can complement their work, minimise duplication, leading to more efficient deployment of resources, and thereby creating more coherent pathways for users of multiple services.
Great examples of collaboration include signposting, strategic alliances, partnerships and networks formed around a common purpose. Sharing knowledge and best practice well within an organisation and across the charity sector is a powerful tool. Strong collaboration in these areas will drive better use of resources and expertise.
With the magazine, ‘GIVING BACK,’ now in it’s second year, we hope to provide a tool that will enable our local charities to better do just that, to bring themselves closer together and, hopefully, create more coherent pathways for users of multiple services.

The magazine is based entirely on local charity news and information, in and around the southern Costa Blanca and Costa Calida. It is A4 glossy, and published on a quarterly basis.
It is distributed to charities free of charge, to either give away to staff, clients and patrons, or perhaps to sell for a nominal fee or donation, which they will then keep.
As well as ‘Charity News,’ the contents include a regularly updated list of all local charities, contacts and so forth, support groups, a calendar of upcoming events, information from the Spanish Social Services, and much more, and we are already drawing up a comprehensive list of knowledgeable contributors.
There is only a limited amount of advertising space available in the magazine, the purpose of which is to cover the cost of design and distribution, although if there is any surplus it is donated on an issue by issue basis to one of our local charities.
Costs for a full page of advertising is very reasonable and there are discounts available if you choose to take advertising in all 4 editions to be published in February, May, August and November 2025.
At this stage the magazine is limited to ‘people charities’.
