Santa Claus is ready to spread holiday cheer across Orihuela with exciting parades and themed villages. Here’s everything you need to know:
Parades Schedule and Routes
Orihuela Costa Parade – Date: Friday, December 20 – Time: Starts at 6:00 p.m.
Route: Begins at the Playa Flamenca town hall offices and passes through plaza Antonio Vicea, Pablo Picasso, Dalí, Jade, before arriving at Zenia Boulevard shopping centre. A special Santa Claus welcome event will take place there for children.
Orihuela Centre Parade – Date: Monday, December 23 – Time: Starts at 7:00 p.m.
Route: Starts at Plaza del Carmen and proceeds through Marqués de Arneva, Santa Justa, López Pozas, Ramón y Cajal, Alfonso XIII, Loaces, Calderón de la Barca, and ends at Santa Claus Village in Glorieta Gabriel Miró.
Santa Claus Villages
Santa Claus will host festive villages in both Orihuela’s centre and on the coast.
Orihuela Costa Village – Location: Car park in front of Zenia Boulevard
Dates: December 21 and 22 – Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Attractions: Santa’s House, Gift Corner, Sweets Corner, Themed holiday scenes
Orihuela Centre Village – Location: Glorieta Gabriel Miró
Dates and Hours: December 21: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
December 22 and 23: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Attractions: Santa’s House, Gift Corner, Sewing Corner, Letter-writing Workshop: Children can write letters to Santa and hand them to an elf for delivery.
Parade Organizers and Budget
This year, the parade organisation has been improved across the whole municipality, addressing past complaints about quality. The events are managed by the Elche-based company La Nena Crea SL, with a total budget of nearly €63,000.
