A 14-year-old boy lost his life on Monday afternoon in the municipality of San Javier, when the electric scooter on which he was travelling was hit by a car.
The events took place during the early evening according to Emergencias when 112 received a call reporting a collision between a vehicle and a scooter at the entrance of Pozo Aledo.
When the local police officers arrived at the scene, the young boy was lying on the ground, unconscious. The youth, a resident of the town, had his headphones on, so one of the hypotheses is that he did not see the car into which he ended up crashing.
An investigation is now being carried out by the Guardia Civil into the causes of the accident.
The car hit the minor on the RMF-28 road, which runs from Pozo Aledo to Dolores de Pacheco, a little past the bridge that crosses over the road. The area is the responsibility of the Civil Traffic Guard.
It seems that the youth hit his head as he fell, which is thought to be the cause of death. The health workers who mobilized to the site in an ambulance were only able to certify the death.
The boy’s remains were subsequently transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine, so that an autopsy can be carried out to confirm the cause of death.
The car was being driven by a 21-year-old girl who was travelling alone in her car. Police carried out a breath test proved negative.
