The Partido Popular candidate for Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has broken down one of the most important blocks of the Electoral Program with which he is running for the elections next Sunday, May 28 “Future projection: strategic projects.”
Eduardo Dolón explained that this block lists the projects that will be the reference for the transformation that Torrevieja needs. These include the comprehensive redevelopment of the port and its adjacent areas, as well as the rehabilitation of the Eras de la Sal Historic Site, the renovation of the urban space with pedestrianisation and the renovation of pavements with prospects for comprehensive accessibility.
Among these strategic projects, Eduardo Dolón has highlighted the comprehensive remodelling of La Plasa, with the intention of fulfilling two functions: the regeneration of a space for public use and that it be the driving force behind the Urbano Abierto Shopping Centre, with the importance that this has for productive sectors such as commerce, hospitality and, in general, the entire service sector.
The candidate for the PP has assured that these projects are “our commitment to the entire productive fabric of the city, which is also completed by promoting tax incentives such as lower rates and, of course, incentives via direct aid such as the BONUS CONSUMPTION, of which we have been an example to follow throughout Spain, and of which if the PP governs, it will continue as annual campaigns to encourage consumption and benefit both citizens and participating establishments.
Eduardo Dolón has also highlighted in his electoral program the redevelopment of the Playa de Los Locos promenade, giving this space the urban renewal it deserves, to finish joining the entire maritime façade from the port -with its Levante Dock which also to be renovated- right down to the beach. Action that only the PP has been able to do and that only the PP can commit to and guarantee that it will be carried out, they say.
And, of course, adds Dolón, we are going to reclaim the large communication infrastructures that Torrevieja has pending for many years. For this reason, we will continue insistently demanding the Government of Spain resume the works of the Duplication of the Variant of the N-332 as it passes through Torrevieja, after seeing how the government of Pedro Sánchez eliminated from the General State Budgets the consignment necessary to undertake said works. Likewise, we will urge the Government of the Generalitat Valenciana to invest in the unfolding of the CV-95 as the main arterial route to relieve traffic in our region, also demanding that the first section where action is taken be in the section of Los Balcones, to ensure a circulation that eliminates once and for all the problems of traffic jams and road safety existing in the surroundings of the University Hospital of Torrevieja.
The PP candidate has also stressed the need for rail connections to the city and a substantial improvement in urban transport with the new intermodal bus station.
Regarding Tourism and the Environment, a future project such as the Rehabilitation of the old La Química factories in Las Salinas, an element that will serve as a tourist engine for the city and our surroundings, with this thalassotherapy centre with sludge and saline water baths; also complemented by the research centre on the medicinal and therapeutic uses of its associated products. And finally, among other aspects, the PP will continue to promote actions aimed at promoting the establishment of hotel facilities in the city of Torrevieja.
