Mojácar Council is putting on a free workshop for all children between the ages of 7 and 12 who wish to learn more about the mysterious world of magic.
It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 March at the town’s Centro de Usos Múltiples, places are limited and prior registration is required at the Culture Department in person or by phone.
The Magician, Zoilo Kerbassi, is the maestro who will be revealing the first lessons that every aspiring magician or those purely interested in the subject must know in order to start on the path of illusion and fantasy.
Kerbassi is a renowned illusionist and an important figure in the magic circuit throughout the province. He is founder and president of the Almeria’s Magic Circle and belongs to the Spanish Society of Conjuring and Magic, in addition to spending much of his time in demonstrating his knowledge and skills through courses and performances.
It is not the first year that Mojácar Council’s Culture Department has put on this event, although as it is always full, available places have had to be increased to cater for the demand. For the Head of Culture, Raquel Belmonte, these workshops are not only about having fun, adding “magic teaches values, stimulates motor skills and self-esteem as well as boosting creativity and promoting communication.”
All in all it is a very interesting learning activity that can be sampled and enjoyed by the youngsters during their Easter break.
