• The investigation began thanks to public cooperation after suspicions of criminal activity were reported.
  • The suspects allegedly conducted drug transactions while accompanied by minors.

June 18, 2025 – As part of ongoing anti-drug operations, the Guardia Civil has arrested four individuals in Torrevieja — two men and two women — for alleged crimes against public health and receiving stolen goods. The arrests followed the dismantling of a 24-hour drug dealing point that was operating out of a residential building in the city center.

The investigation began in early April after members of the public alerted authorities to suspicious activity in the building. Reports described a constant stream of people entering and exiting the premises, drug consumption in communal areas, and the repeated presence of minors with those suspected of running the operation.

Officers from the Investigation Unit of the Torrevieja Main Police Station observed that the suspects regularly left the residence accompanied by minors, apparently using them as a distraction to facilitate quick drug handovers in the vicinity of the building. As a result, in addition to taking police action, authorities also notified the social services department of the Generalitat Valenciana to assess and monitor the situation.

The operation culminated in an undercover surveillance when officers caught the suspects in the act of a drug transaction. Following their arrest, a search of the property uncovered hashish, base cocaine, packaging materials, cash, various items believed to be stolen, and a laptop that had been reported stolen in Madrid.

The four detainees — Spanish nationals aged between 41 and 53 — are facing charges for drug trafficking and possession of stolen property. All have prior records for similar offenses. They were brought before Court of Instruction No. 1 in Torrevieja, which ordered their release under precautionary measures.

The Guardia Civil emphasized the crucial role played by public cooperation in initiating and successfully resolving the investigation.
