Around 50 Guardia Civil officers voluntarily gave blood in the 30th edition of the initiative, organised in collaboration with the Murcian Health Service Blood Donation Centre.
Murcia, 10 June 2026 — The Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia has once again joined forces with the Blood Donation Centre of the Murcian Health Service to hold a blood donation campaign aimed at members of the force.
The initiative, now in its 30th edition, forms part of the Guardia Civil’s corporate social responsibility programme. Officers and their relatives were invited to donate blood voluntarily and altruistically, helping to meet the demand for blood and blood products in healthcare centres across the Region of Murcia.
Due to the high level of participation in previous editions, donation facilities were once again set up at the headquarters of the Guardia Civil’s 5th Zone in Murcia city. Extraction units were installed on site to allow officers to take part in the campaign during the day.
Members of the Guardia Civil across the 5th Zone were also informed of the possibility of donating blood at designated points in hospitals and health centres in different towns throughout the region.
More than 1,500 donations
As in previous years, the response from Guardia Civil officers was described as excellent, with around 50 donations made during this latest edition.
Since the campaigns began at the regional Guardia Civil headquarters, more than 1,500 donations have been recorded.
Blood donation days have been promoted by the Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia for more than a decade. The initiative forms part of a wider national campaign launched by the institution as a corporate social responsibility measure, in keeping with the public service spirit of the force.
