Torrevieja’s Local Government Board has awarded the contract for surveillance and access control at municipal facilities to VIGIPROT S.L.U. The service is valued at €118,433 per year (VAT included) and will run for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions. If fully extended, the total investment will reach €473,732 over four years.
The awarded company has committed to several improvements at no extra cost to the City Council. These include providing 200 additional hours of auxiliary staff and 200 extra hours of security guards to cover urgent or exceptional needs, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
The company will also offer extra training for three guards in first aid, the use of semi-automatic defibrillators, and elevator rescue, ensuring that any replacement personnel have the same level of training. In addition, VIGIPROT will install two license-plate-reading cameras to automate barrier access, each valued at around €1,500, which will become municipal property once the contract ends.
The service will also include real-time monitoring tools that allow the Local Police to track guard positions, access digital reports, and review performance indicators. Furthermore, the company guarantees that it can provide additional security personnel within eight hours in case of emergencies or urgent situations.
With this contract, the City Council aims to strengthen security and improve access control across municipal facilities, ensuring a more modern, efficient, and responsive service for the residents of Torrevieja.
