The Guardia Civil of the Murcia Region has arrested a 57-year-old man in Puerto de Mazarrón, as the suspected perpetrator of a sexual assault and attempted homicide.

The operation began when the Guardia Civil was alerted to a reported fight at a residence in Puerto de Mazarrón and immediately dispatched a patrol.

Upon arriving, the officers interviewed a young woman who had several cuts on her arms. The woman told the officers that she had been attacked by her landlord, with whom she had previously had disputes over his sexual advances toward her.

In addition to several defensive cuts on her arms, the victim had various bruises and minor cuts on her neck and head. Emergency medical services were requested to provide her with medical attention.

Meanwhile, the Guardia Civil learned that the woman had been at the residence with her young daughter and another housemate when her landlord, showing signs of intoxication, showed up at the house.

The aggressor tried to force her into a room while she resisted. He then began to strike her and attack her with a large knife, allegedly attempting to achieve his goal. This incident was witnessed by her housemate, who intervened and prevented a fatal outcome.

The Guardia Civil identified the suspect as a 57-year-old man of Moroccan nationality, who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and attempted homicide.

The authorities have seized the weapon used in the attack, a large kitchen knife, which has been placed under judicial control.
