The Port of Alicante is set to host 98 cruise ships in 2025, following a record-breaking year with up to 100 berths and nearly 230,000 passengers in 2024.
This provisional calendar includes 95 cruise ship arrivals throughout the year, slightly fewer than the initial 102 berths expected in 2024, but as always, this number may change due to weather conditions or other circumstances.
One significant contributor to these numbers is the Italian-Swiss shipping company MSC Cruises, which has committed to at least 32 visits with embarkation and disembarkation options for the summer season.
In 2025, the Mediterranean tours will be conducted by MSC Musica, replacing MSC Orchestra. MSC Cruises also plans to bolster its presence in Alicante with its ultra-luxury line, Explora Journeys. The Explora II is scheduled for visits in April and October.
New additions to the port include shipping companies that haven’t previously operated in Alicante, thanks to efforts by the Commercial Division of the Port, the Tourist Board, and the terminal management company. Among these is the British company Cunard, part of the Carnival group, which has confirmed its first visits to Alicante in 2025.
Simultaneous arrivals of at least two ships docking at Pier 14 will continue, though less frequently than in 2024.
Another highlight is the arrival of the residential megayacht, The World. This time-share ship, designed as a floating city, offers the amenities of a six-star hotel and a luxury cruise ship. The World features 165 residences, including 106 apartments, 19 studios, and 40 additional studios. While all residences have owners, some are available for resale, with prices ranging from two to fifteen million euros. The World is expected to stop at the Port of Alicante for three nights, with specific dates yet to be announced.
