The PP Infrastructure spokesperson in Les Corts, Joserra González de Zárate, has called on the Spanish Government to “expand the airports of Alicante and Valencia after leading the annual growth of international passengers”.

A request that “has not only been requested by the Consell of Carlos Mazón  but by the unanimity of the Valencian tourism sector, because we need it urgently and its execution must be rapid by the Ministry”.

A request for which they also choose to ignore the environmental impact the expansion would have, not only in the land needed, but in the increase in pollution from flights which are already causing irreversible damage to the area.

Moreover, they are also neglecting to mention that Aena, the airport authority, is already working on increasing the capacity at the airport without the need for expansion, by streamlining the ground operation, work which has been taking place, and continues.

Moreover, they are critical, as always of the socialist government of Pedro Sanchez, whilst neglecting to mention that the action could so easily have bene taken under their rule in one of the previous government periods.
