A majestic three-masted schooner arrived at the Port of Cartagena on Monday, but it was no ordinary ship. It was none other than the ‘ Koru ‘, the mega yacht of one of the richest men in the world, the American Jeff Bezos, founder of the multinational company Amazon.
Valued at around 500 million dollars, the vessel had spent a few days in Menorca and Ibiza, where it was protected from the DANA that hit Mallorca in particular. It is now docked at the Navantia shipyard where it is undergoing maintenance work.
The ‘ Koru ‘ is considered to be the second largest sailing yacht in the world, surpassed only by ‘ Sailing Yacht A ‘, owned by the Russian-Emirati billionaire entrepreneur, Andrey Melnichenk. The schooner is 127 meters long and is easily recognisable for its three 70 metre masts.
Its arrival in Cartagena waters has aroused the curiosity of passers-by and tourists. No further details have been revealed about the duration it will spend in Cartagena, because of a confidentiality agreement that the owner has with Navantia.
