LEADER Easter racing tips rolled in on Saturday with a bumper 11 winning selections – including another big race success – when Austrian School (4-1) landed the £100,000 14 runners Queen’s Cup at Musselburgh.

“He’s hit the crossbar a lot of times – he’s a good horse – and it’s been a fantastic Easter for us,” said trainer Mark Johnston after Joe Fanning won the Queens Cup Stakes over 1m 5f by six lengths.

Rebecca Bastiman trained each way tip Hayadh (11-2) backed from 17-2, ran second, with each way tip Gowanbuster (11-2) third, and tip Clayton (6-5) gaining a 3 length win at the Scottish track.

Trainer Philip Kirby, who celebrated his birthday on Friday, put the icing on the cake on Easter Saturday with tip Whoshotthesherrif (5-4) ridden by Sean Quinlan, successful at Carlisle. Quinlan also obliged on the Kenny Johnson trained tip Cairnshill (5-4).

At Newton Abbott The Leader tipped four winners in River Bray (3-1), Primal Focus (2-1), Lord Bryan (11-8) and Iniesta (7-1) – returning a 228-1 accumulator.

At Haydock each way tips Arthington (10-1) beaten a head in a photo finish, and Jarlath (14-1) finished third.

Electric Ladyland (11-8) got Leader punters off to a flying start at Kempton, the Archie Watson trained horse, ridden by Luke Morris obliging.

Leader tip Charlemaine (9-4) trained by Paul Cole gained success on the opening race at Brighton’s evening meeting on Saturday, with The Jean Jeanie (6-4) a winning tip.

Nottingham’s evening meeting saw Leader each way selection Aktau (20-1) finish third.

On Saturday April 27 the finale of the NH 2018-19 campaign focuses on Sandown, with trainer Paul Nicholls, who hit the 3,000 winners mark last week, and champion jockey elect Richard Johnson, the focus of attention.

“It’s brilliant to get 3,000 winners. A great achievement. I’m really looking forward to Sandown on Saturday,” said Nicholls.

Nicholls became only the third trainer in history to saddle 3,000 winners over jumps in Britain.

Martin Pipe, who ended his 31-year career with 3,930 jumps winners, and Nicky Henderson, who reached 3,100 recently, are the only trainers with more National Hunt winners.
