In the action, the Mayor was accused of misrepresentation and embezzlement when hiring a company for municipal technical assistance to carry out works in the municipality, in the Arbollón and El Fronton areas of the town.
The case, which started in July 2014, had previously been dismissed by the Vera Court after the Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Ministry considered that there was no case to answer.
At the end of February, the appeal presented in Vera Court no 2 on behalf of the Socialist Group of Mojácar, again considered that the facts did not constitute any criminal offence.
The Chief Judge of Vera’s Examining Magistrates, in his ruling, considered that “it was already known and accepted that the tenderer had complied with the legal requirements” and has therefore again ordered the complaint to be dismissed as there is clearly no basis for further action.
