This project responds to the growing demand from families visiting the Torrevieja Tourist Office, seeking specific recommendations for enjoying the city with young children.

The International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) served as the platform for the launch of the first-ever Tourist Guide designed specifically for children. Rosario Martínez, the Councillor for Tourism in Torrevieja, presented the project at the Costa Blanca Tourism Board’s Municipal Hall. The guide, aimed exclusively at children, was developed to meet the increasing demand from families who visit the Torrevieja Tourist Office looking for child-friendly recommendations to enjoy the city.

Unlike guides intended for parents, this material is designed to allow children to explore Torrevieja in a fun and independent way. With a visual format, engaging illustrations, and QR codes for additional information, the guide offers a modern and entertaining approach that connects young visitors with the city’s cultural, natural, and recreational offerings.

The content includes information on beaches, the Mata-Torrevieja Natural Park, fun activities such as bowling, the library, pools, and a water park, as well as nautical activities and other points of interest. The guide also features an original comic and a retelling of one of Torrevieja’s beloved local legends, adding a creative and cultural touch to the experience.

This initiative reinforces the commitment of the Torrevieja City Council to family tourism by providing a unique tool that combines entertainment and education for younger visitors. The guide is available for free at the Tourist Info on Paseo Vista Alegre and is expected to become an essential resource for both tourists and residents eager to rediscover the city through the eyes of children.
