The Councilor for Rural Development, Víctor Valverde, has announced the launch of the 2024-2027 LEADER grants to support the creation and improvement of businesses in rural areas. Managed by the Association for Sustainability and Rural Innovation (ASIR) through the Local Action Group for Southern Alicante, these grants aim to boost the local economy and employment.
Applications will open in April for individuals, microenterprises, and SMEs looking to start or expand businesses. Grants of up to €100,000, covering up to 65% of investment costs, are available for property improvements, equipment purchases, software development, and consulting services. Additionally, the ‘Ticket Rural’ program offers up to €19,000 for self-employed entrepreneurs and business transfers.
Specialized support is also available for agri-food businesses. Valverde highlighted the grants’ role in fostering economic growth and encouraged participation. Assistance for applications is provided through the Local Action Group for Southern Alicante via phone (640 028 945) or their website (www.galsurdealicante.es).
