The city’s population has grown by nearly 6,000 over the past year, with 47.91% (50,960) of residents being Spanish and 52.09% (55,390) coming from 123 countries across five continents.

Torrevieja begins 2025 with 106,350 registered residents, an increase of nearly 6,000 people in just one year. This growth strengthens Torrevieja’s position as the third-largest city in Alicante province and the fifth-largest in the Valencian Community, behind only the three provincial capitals (Valencia, Alicante, and Castellón) and Elche.

According to municipal census, 47.91% (50,960) of Torrevieja’s residents are Spanish, while 52.09% (55,390) are international, representing 123 countries. This year, the city welcomed two residents from Dominica, a Caribbean island, increasing the number of represented countries from 122 to 123. Additionally, 48.93% of the population (52,039) are men, and 51.07% (54,311) are women.

The largest growth in 2024 came from Ukrainian residents, now numbering 9,512. Ukraine has surpassed all other foreign nationalities in Torrevieja’s census, followed by Russia (5,926), Colombia (5,141), and the United Kingdom (4,708).

For the first time, Colombia has overtaken the UK. Among the Ukrainian residents, 55% (5,227) are women, while 45% (4,285) are men.

Other notable foreign populations include Moroccans (2,961), Swedes (1,840), Romanians (1,712), Belgians (1,574), Bulgarians (1,550), Italians (1,322), Algerians (1,254), Germans (1,237), Poles (1,141), and Chinese (884).

Smaller yet still significant communities include Brazilians (868), Argentinians (823), Venezuelans (783), Norwegians (708), and French (685), alongside residents from Lithuania, Finland, Belarus, India, and other nations. The city also has six stateless residents (three men and three women).
